WHS student volunteers lead the way for the visiting fourth graders through a hands–on Digital Media Arts workshop during Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway Day. Elementary students rotated through interactive stations led by mentors, taking a peek into technology–based programs and what CTE classes at WHS are like.
“Getting [kids] involved and interested at an early age by presenting what it actually means in practice is not only fun for the kid, but also helpful towards their future and better understanding of what they want to do,” said Zane Crosby ‘26.

WHS theater student Natalie Moresi ‘26 demonstrates Stage Production Technology pathway equipment to an elementary student inside the Carpenter Family Theater during the CTE workshops. The experience lets young, interested students explore lighting and sound systems while learning about the technology aspect of behind the scenes of a WHS production.
“I really love tech class,” said Moresi. “So getting to explain to [the fourth graders] how everything works behind the scenes was a no–brainer.”

Fourth graders gather around a hands–on activity station led by Jack Robison ‘26 with the Allied Health Career pathway as WHS mentors answer questions and guide them through the activity. Throughout the day, elementary students took part in group project based sessions, made to introduce them to the career pathways and real–world skill development available at WHS.
“I remember learning about senses in elementary school, and I would have really liked to have had an experience like we [hosted],” said Robison.

WHS students lead a Future Educators Pathway workshop for visiting fourth graders, guiding them through a stationed learning activity with different WHS mentors. The event connected younger students with high school mentors and provided early exposure to academic programs and future career opportunities at WHS.
“I really like being able to share something that I love with them,” said Maya Twito ‘26. “I think children definitely learn the best from experiences in which they actually have fun.”
